The gift of closure
"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the business of kings is
to search out a matter" (Prov. 25:2, Solomon speaking).
These are refreshing words because they promise that God does something
good about our past; He covers it.
People tend to like exposure and disclosure about the past, but the Lord
likes closure.
It glorifies God to have wounds covered and healed, not to leave them
exposed. We're told in another place that "love covers a multitude of
transgressions" and that "God is love."
Divine closure doesn't remove the fact of the past, but it does something
else just as good: It removes the effect of the fact of the past.
Closure is a gift that is received, not acquired. It also can't be explained,
but it can be experienced. That's because it's supernatural, not mental
or intellectual.
It's simply a work of the Holy Spirit that you yield to.
Enjoy the freedom,
Every goodness,
